“The performance is about the relation between man and woman, a conversation between them. Man and Woman depend on each other and their relation is the main line of the Dust in the Wind. We can meet some typical characteristics of man and woman expressed both in theatrical and in the abstract way. Connection with reality, abstract atmosphere and movement, gives the viewer the opportunity of its own interpretation.”

CRITIC

Inspiring Slovene and Polish. Dust In The Wind. Choreography and dance Nastja Bremec and Michal Rynia. MN Dance Company, Ljubljana, Center of Culture Spanish Fighters, 55min.” Tina Šrot, Pogledi  26.05.2010.

“Two souls, two different worlds, between them there is the bridge of connections, described by their distinctive characteristics. The relationship between men and women, a topic which has been and will always be maltreated and scratching both sexes. Broad field of art allows this topic to live in a wide range of colors and shades, in modern dance performance Dust in the Wind, where the dancers and choreographers Nastja Bremec and Michal Rynia appear on the narrative, dramatic and honest manner.

In the great hall of the Cultural Center Spanish Fighters in Ljubljana, the Polish and Slovene allow audience the direct access to their relationship. Concrete situations, which are an integral part of their partnership coexistence, they connected together with the telling story dramaturgy. The show starts with their conflict, than goes to the mutual alienation, slowly to convergence and at the end to the final merger, which shows all the beauty of their relationship. We are recognizing exuberant, unbridled emotions of the young woman and controlled behavior of her partner who is rarely allowed to show what he feels.

The show does not need a traditional theater list, it is very understandable and expressed in an interesting fusion of dance skills; Nastja Bremec comes from modern dance background, Michal Rynia is five times world champion in hip hop. Her expressive modern movements are skillfully interwoven with his, which are slightly harder and more chopped off. Their unique choreography language is based on a sophisticated dance movement, clean lines and technical thoroughness. High, outstretched legs to the tips of the toes and elegant movements of arms from Nastja Bremec are showing her knowledge of classical ballet, which is complemented by well-made modern dance elements. Michal Rynia performs with male energy, which he expresses in his first solo by explosive movements of modern dance with the creative combination of hip hop elements. Choreography inspired by its symbolism: dancing in a pair, fictitious swordsmanship, repetitive jumps of a woman to man’s embrace, childish spinning in a circle with an interplay of their hands, undoing his shirt as an expression of women’s supremacy…

In the 55-minute dynamic choreography we do not miss dazzling costumes and scenography there is sufficient the light design by Dennis Vooren. Wide range of music genre has inspired movements and it is a good illustration of each situation, some of them have been carried out in silence.

Nastja Bremec and Michal Rynia are excellent dancers who have perfected their skills at the Rotterdam Dance Academy (CODARTS Rotterdam Dance Academy), where they are returning as a guest teachers and choreographers. They worked with famous choreographers (Club Guy & Roni, Andre Gingras, Ed Wubbe, Nacho Duato), were members of the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and last year they chose to pursue an independent way in the world of dance under the name of M & N Dance Company. The premiere of the whole evening performance Dust in the Wind took place in Lantaren Venster Rotterdam in March, on the 26th of May, we saw it also in Slovenia. Slovenian – Polish duo showed great sense of choreography, which promises enhanced interest in their artistic creation”.
