MN Dance Company, under the artistic direction of Michal Rynia and Nastja Bremec Rynia, proudly presents the highly anticipated premiere of Borderless Body – a visionary performance blending contemporary dance, artificial intelligence, and robotics in a powerful exploration of the human condition.
Conceived as one of the signature projects during the European Capital of Culture candidature period, Borderless Body is a thought-provoking journey into the future of humanity, asking urgent questions about our relationship with technology, the limits of the human body, and the very essence of what it means to be alive.
Over four years, Borderless Body has evolved into a rich interdisciplinary process, culminating in this full-length production. Previous creations under the same research umbrella—such as To the Moon and Back, Distance, Border-Line, F-Lights, Prometheus, A-Line, and Drop—have delved into similar themes, but the new work aims to push the boundaries even further.
The performance questions:
What happens when human bodies can be enhanced or even replaced by technology?
What is the body of the future—and will it still be biological?
Can algorithms move a dancer’s body with the same emotional depth as the human mind?
In an era where AI is a daily presence, cyborgs are no longer science fiction, and medical technology is reshaping life itself, Borderless Body dares to imagine both the wonder and the danger of a world where we can surpass our natural limitations—but at what cost?
Through a fusion of dance, multimedia. The haunting, cinematic score by Silence—featuring elements from 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner—adds further emotional and philosophical layers to the performance.
The creative team includes dramaturg Ana Kržišnik Blažica, and a wide network of designers, technicians, and digital innovators. The choreographers are joined on stage by a dynamic international cast of dancers and actors.
