In celebration of International Dance Day, MN Dance Company prepared a special site-responsive dance event across the city of Nova Gorica, designed as a moving artistic journey through nine different urban locations.
The project brought together the dancers of MN Dance Company and the young participants of the educational programme of MN Dance School in a collective celebration of movement, creativity, and public space. Starting from the EpiCenter, audiences were invited to walk together through the city while encountering a series of contemporary dance interventions on each location. The event was conceived as an opportunity to connect dance with everyday life and to bring contemporary movement closer to the public through direct and unexpected encounters.
The evening was planned to conclude at the monument of Edvard Rusjan with a performance by young dancers from MN Dance School, highlighting the importance of artistic education and supporting emerging generations of performers.
Unfortunately, due to heavy rain and weather conditions, the event had to be cancelled. Despite this, the preparation process itself became an important artistic and community experience, reaffirming the company’s commitment to creating accessible contemporary dance projects in public spaces and strengthening the connection between art, city, and community.
