Beginning of the Creation Process of Within / Beyond

MN Dance Company has started the creative process for Within / Beyond (Znotraj / Onkraj), an evening-length contemporary dance diptych that reflects on the body in a world shaped by constant external stimuli, accelerated rhythms, and continuous responsiveness.

The performance explores the relationship between the individual’s inner experience and the external pressures of contemporary society — social expectations, work dynamics, technologically conditioned ways of living, and the growing sense of fragmentation and overstimulation. At the centre of the work is the body as a transitional space between the external and internal world: a place where impulses are received, filtered, resisted, and transformed.

The creative process is rooted in intensive physical research based on guided improvisation, task-based exploration, and collective choreographic experimentation. Rather than reproducing predefined movement forms, the dancers investigate bodily responses to internal and external impulses, searching for new physical strategies, movement qualities, and ways of organizing the body in space.

The diptych brings together two distinct choreographic voices within a shared conceptual framework. The piece Within is created by Michał Rynia and Nastja Bremec Rynia, while the company also welcomed choreographer Miloš Isailović for the creation process of Beyond. The coexistence of these different artistic approaches allows the work to unfold through multiple perspectives, each examining how the contemporary body exists between adaptation and the desire for inner autonomy.
